Qwest Corporation was founded in 1911 in Denver, CO. Until CenturyLink acquired the company, Qwest Corp. was a subsidiary of Qwest Services Corporation. The acquisition allowed CenturyLink to become the third-largest telecommunications company in the United States. The newly formed company now has about 17 million access lines, five million broadband customers and 1.4 million people who use one of the company’s video subscription services across 37 states.

While the company is now CenturyLink, many of Qwest’s original services remain intact as a telecommunications company acquired the majority share. The company provides broadband and wireless services to businesses and individuals throughout the United States. It also provides data, voice and managed services to corporations, government agencies and wholesale customers through fiber optic networks and data centers.
