"SAP Business Objects - STAY AWAY"

What do you like about working at Business Objects?

"They paid money for work. You could make your own schedule."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Find another company to work for, unless you're a key engineer or manager or don't care about job safety."

What don't you like about working at Business Objects?

"The salary was ridiculously low. This was supposed to be an internship, but they had 6 interns and they did all the work of regular QA Test Engineers, from writing up test plans to putting together test scripts to setting up test computers and servers. We were interns only so that they wouldn't have to offer insurance or other compensation packages. Worse, they continually bated us with empty promises of future employment: Oh, we're hiring in 2 months. You're definitely on the list. When 2 months rolled around with no job, they said, Oh, we're hiring in 3 months. You're definitely on the list. Additionally, both the QA Manager and Test Lead were prone to yelling to get things done and to cover up their mistakes. Dealing with the overpaid software engineers was also a pain. I received responses from whatever to complete silence. At the end of my stay, they fired everyone except a few key engineers and managers. In short, the experience was horrific."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Yelling isn't an effective management tool."
