"Know that even though some divisions are making money, the company as a whole is losing money."

What don't you like about working at CertainTeed?

"The company works in silos - very poor cross communications between departments."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Be willing to accept bad news. You can tell alot about a company by how quickly, or slowly, bad news travels up an organization. The President was very sheltered and rarely met with anyone other than his direct reports. Although I was responsible for the Quality of 5 plants, he never once stepped in to my office, or called me to his office, in 2-1/2 years."
