Education: Many program assistants have a bachelors degree in social work, communications, human resources or hospitality. Business degrees are also ideal for someone who is seeking a career as a program assistant. Depending on the industry the person is working in, it may be possible to combine an associate or vocational technical degree with solid work experience to gain employment in this occupational path.
