Process Chemist at Air Liquide
in Sunnyvale, CA

What do you like about working at Air Liquide?

"I liked the people for the most part. I liked learning about organometallic materials, as I had no prior experience with those in my career."

What don't you like about working at Air Liquide?

"It wasn't the best fit for me; while my title was process chemist, I wasn't truly doing what I consider to be process chemistry: scale-up of research reactions through kilo lab and pilot plant to full production. I wasn't doing much synthetic chemistry at all, but was mostly working on transfer of organometallic materials from one container to another without exposing the materials to atmospheric moisture or oxygen."

Process Chemist at Carboline

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"Too hot and humid there. I'm used to working with employees who are energetic."

"I liked targeting the batch problems and working with R&D to resolve them. They wanted an R&D person for this job for that reason."

What don't you like about working at Carboline?

"My background has always been at manufacturing facilities. I worked as R&D with alert QC and really energetic production workers...both in the Midwest and in VA. And we all worked together as a team. This place just didn't have team players."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Top management is okay. I told them what was wrong with the facility."
