"From my perspective the company doesn't exactly value it's employees. Traveled 57% of the year in 2021 to make sure a client's needs were covered. Talked to the CEO numerous times about needing to slow down. Turned in a 2 weeks notice after finding another position without the travel and more appreciation. CEO sent the following response "We feel it is in Precision Engineering’s best interest to terminate your employment on the day that you resigned. Therefore, your resignation will be effective yesterday..." Company Handbook states that it expects a 2 weeks notice. More than willing to post an email/text message trail with the CEO and PM if needed to verify the veracity of this comment. Additionally, the company required that I pay back a quarterly bonus. The CEO stated that the repayment would reflect in my 2022 W2, even though the repayment was partially for 2021. After a few back-and-forth emails, I gave in and let them just adjust the 2022 W2. Now the company is refusing to adjust the amount in 2022 and requiring that I file a "Claim of Right". This is a 2 fold problem as it doesn't allow the recouping of Medicare Tax nor the Social Security Tax. Additionally, this almost always comes with an Audit. The company could easily send a W2C (Corrected W2), but refuses."
