"You must enjoy working with people with developmental disabilities as your primary reason for working there. Be aware that the work is demanding, with low pay and benefits. Your job satisfaction must come from work/engagement with people with developmental disabilities. It won't come from decent pay, great benefits, creative environment, or recognition from management of great work you do."

What don't you like about working at PossAbilities of Southern MN?

"communication throughout the organization was terrible. no prior planning or preparation done for the contract work I did. not good at matching staff skills with needs. not good at matching resources with needs. pissy employees. difficult to build work relationships. not a lot of employee camaraderie. salary not matched with skills required of the position. either micromanaged or completely disengaged management styles. no staff development initiatives. many long-term employees who bring no enthusiasm to the environment. Not enough creative thinking."

"improve communication throughout the organization. engage employees in problem solving. match employee skills with needs in the organization. have an executive director who is actively engaged with staff. improve employee recognition. pay attention to work environment to increase employee satisfaction."
