"I started as the controller in January 2014. Within 4 months, the accounting manager and one bookkeeper quit. I wasn't allowed to replace the accounting manager, but I was allowed to hire two inexperienced bookkeepers. I was then forced to fire the only bookkeeper with experience. When I informed management that I wanted to fire one of my new bookkeepers due to incompetence even with extensive training, I was told I couldn't fire him. The owner now thinks I need to report to his CFO of an unrelated company because my department isn't keeping up with our deadlines. I spend all day doing my incompetent employee's job and the owner wonders why I'm not able to do my job. They do not support their employees and my department was set up to fail."
