"While Pearson itself makes a great deal of money, they often do it with mildly shady tactics. Seeking to guilt educators and administrators into buying their products. Advancement is very discouraged and favorites are clearly displayed."

"Even though I've worked at Pearson for a few months, they have proved to be very helpful in improving my skills in critically examining teaching styles in my subject area. My supervisors have been very supportive, and I get to work from home, so that is a plus."

"Graded computerized placement tests for high school students. Company could care less whether you were happy or not; if they weren't federally mandated to provide time for breaks or lunch, they wouldn't do it. Absolutely NO chance to move up in the organization. Don't expect 40 hr. weeks or overtime either."

What do you like about working at Pearson Education?

"The group of people I work with are supportive, flexible, and work well as a team. I have worked there for 4 summers and is such a pleasant change from the teaching environment. There is respect for new ideas and support to see them to fruition."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be prepared and be flexible. As with all large corporations, many things happen at the last minute and information was needed yesterday. Do not get flustered and be cordial."

What don't you like about working at Pearson Education?

"This is a huge corporation and the opportunities to get a full time job are limited."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The mid-managers are more open and supportive than those in upper management. For those in upper management I would like to see better communication and better trust in our abilities."
