"Here’s my story of what happened to me after working here for about a year and half. This was my second job out of college. My first I worked up at HAB where I programmed in C. Paramount hired me at $45k a year being an entry level programmer. I get it that most companies are from 45-60 coming out of school or having 0-2 years a professional experience. I figured the pay would come later. As I went through the interview I was interviewed by a few people and everything went well. They told me in the interview what I would be doing to start and that would be merging code up to the different environments (test, staging, production) and publishing them out to the servers. They said after 6 months of doing that I would have some programming to do. Well I took the job going off what they told me. 2 months into the job I was trained by, in my eyes, one of the best developers there on rest/soap services. I did everything I was told to and I was doing a great job they said. Well after we finished the rest/soap services I didn’t get any more development thrown my way. All I did every day was merge code up. Soon they wanted me to start help testing since there is only one QA for all the apps they support. I started help testing the apps. On the month of my year mark my boss called me into the office. They told me I was doing great etc., and that they wanted me to start showing the QA guy how to merge the code up and publish. They said “have him start watching you so if you’re ever gone on vacation we aren’t screwed and can have someone else do it.” That right there was a red flag for me."
