"I started working as a Data Scientist for paq wearables in September 2019 while finishing my applied mathematics degree at UCSD. As a company with fewer than 10 employees, the environment is close and all of my colleagues wear multiple hats, working on app and hardware development for new products, marketing, and it feels like everyone has a say as the company continues to develop. Working with a large data set, researching the preprocessing steps, and developing the machine learning model has been a great experience for solidifying my understanding of important libraries in Python, but it would be nice to work alongside other data scientists to get more feedback and mentorship for the skills I need to improve."
