"I worked for Paisan for just under 2 years and honestly, the position was perfect for me. I was in school full time and the shifts at Paisan are quick but require attentive customer service. There are however a few areas in need of improvement, the first being the large party buyouts. Often, Paisan rents out the lovely covered garden patio for large banquets, but the server in charge of taking care of the large party takes on a heavy workload in comparison to the other servers sharing the shift. At Paisan tips are pooled, so if you are the one working the buy out then you will be working harder and for a longer shift for the same compensation. In addition to the unfair workload of large party buy out, the pooled tip system generally seems to benefit the server who does the least amount of work and I found workers often letting others pick up the slack with no repercussions. In conclusion, Paisan is a great place to work for short hours and recent pay, but like any job, there are areas in need of improvement. The people are great and so is the food, but be aware and do not be taken advantage of."
