"They respect work life balance. You get to work with people who are extremely talented."
"I worked for Overstock for 3 months as a development intern. The work was fun, the development team was fun and the opportunities at Overstock are endless."
"Overall a great company to work for."
"Been going downhill in the IT department for the last year with new senior management."
"The people you will work with at Overstock.com can't be beat. Everyone is willing to help everyone around them grow and learn. The only downside is that most of the executive leadership wants to have their own view reflected, and while their input is valuable, it slows the process down so work has to be rushed and not done as well as it could be."
"Worst company I ever worked. I don't recommend anybody to work there if they are having same big issues within IT."
"Great company to work for as a front end developer. Great environment and opportunities to grow."
"When I started at Overstock, it was amazing-benefits were excellent, helpfulness of the team leads etc. But, I have to say that in the last 3-4 months we have lost 50% of our team leads, have a complete change over of supervisors and managers and the turnover has gone from super low to over 50%. In the last 3 months of this year about half of our staff have either quit or been 'fired' for things that are actually part of our processes. At one time I would have recommended overstock to anyone but no longer. Most of my coworkers were job hunting (I had several of them tell me of places to job hunt that I would never have considered). I will NO longer work for overstock, use their services, purchase items from them and will never say anything good about them ever again. It's amazing-they went from being a terrific company to work for to a company I can no longer say anything good about. Good luck if you go to work for them."
"Poor senior management. Ruled by fear."
"I worked for Overstock for nearly 6 years and learned so much as a person and employee, I would never ask for those years back. Ultimately, with the departure of the CEO and CFO under less than prime circumstances I determined I wanted to work for a company with a stable road map."
"Overstock culture is great, they hold parties often, they have a good flexible work/life balance. 401K is one of the best in the country (up to 6% match) and the salary is competitive."
"A great job for someone looking for entry-level work but not much space to move up."
"Overstock.com provides great culture. Compensation is good."
