What do you like about working at OnStar?
"I could go in at 7:30am and get out at 4:00pm. Hours were very flexible. Great engineers to work with. Able to learn and test new technology."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Have some knowledge about the job. Don't lie about education, GPA or work experience. Answer questions truthfully. If you are not familiar with a particular subject, just tell them I have no experience, but willing to train on the subject if available. You may have several managers interviewing you at the same time."
What don't you like about working at OnStar?
"Manager keeps looking over the shoulders of all the engineers. I was never given a job performance review since I started working. I had no idea about how I was performing or what I needed to improve my performance."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Managers must give employees at least a review every 6 months. It is critical to let the employee know if they are meeting expectations or falling short. This helps the employee to better achieve company and personal goals."
