What do you like about working at OneMain Financial?

"Nothing at all, they compare you to 5th graders & upper management yells at you in front of the entire staff instead of taking you aside to address any issues or concern."

"Yes I do, you should demand that this company provide upper management with a course on how to treat their employees."

What don't you like about working at OneMain Financial?

"They disrespect you & down talk to you like if you are 8 years old. They tell you to violate policy & when you do, they write you up & than they dont admit that they told you to do it. So dam if you do & dam if you dont."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Be careful how you treat people, last thing you want is a lawsuit & the name of the company all over channel 9 news."

"Great people, great customers, great hours. I have a good boss who helps me the best he can."

"Be focused on your ability to sell but be prepared all work comes from the collections list."

What don't you like about working at OneMain Financial?

"Reduced bonuses, no raises in 3yrs. The continued closing of Branches and firing of employees"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"If management would listen to the employees the company would not be in this position. There is huge disconnect between management and staff."

What do you like about working at OneMain Financial?

"I like the stability, vacation time, and association with Citigroup"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Make sure you mesh well with your manager and 2 and 3-ups. If you work with a good team, it can be a good place to work. But lack of career opportunities and internal growth makes it difficult to move around."

What don't you like about working at OneMain Financial?

"Promotions and raises are minuscule. The performance review process is strictly a check box and requires no accountability from managers. Salaries can be wildly inconsistent regardless of skills or value brought to the organization."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Show stronger leadership to motivate and inspire employees. Currently, it just seems that we are stuck in how we've always done it and are just content in the mediocre position we are currently in."

What do you like about working at OneMain Financial?

"Job stability. The paycheck isn't bad. Close to home. I like to help customers with their financial needs."

"You might want to look for work somewhere else. If you work here, you will likely be looking for work again soon."

What don't you like about working at OneMain Financial?

"I am under a microscope at work. My direct manager sits right behind me and gets in the mix of everything I do all day long. I am told to make decisions when helping my customers, but when I do, my manager is sitting there listening to every word I say and she interferes with almost every conversation that I am having, even though in most cases, I am doing a great job servicing my customers. My customers repeatedly call asking for me to help them. I start working from the time I walk in the door until the time I leave. I take 1 break during the whole day, most of the time it is only a 30 minute lunch break, while my manager takes 4-6 smoke breaks every day. If we try to even stop working to just breathe for a minute, we get asked if there is a problem. I have been with this company for 5 & 1/2 years now. I worked at another location in another state for the first 5 years and I fairly enjoyed my job and my co-workers. I have not enjoyed my job ever since my transfer in January 2012. I do not like my manager or my co-workers at all. I fear that I will quit before I'm able to find a new job. I need help!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would hire a better upper management staff. I would also make sure that the upper management had to take ongoing refresher courses so that they would remain fresh to their staff, rather than becoming stale and self-serving."

"Having worked in legal and compliance, I always felt that my company wanted to do the right thing and was dedicated to being fair to our customers."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Simply be aware that the company is for sale and could be either merged with another financial services company or bought by private equity and each of these options could have a drastic effect on central operations (home office.)"

What don't you like about working at OneMain Financial?

"We are a subsidiary of CitI and therefore, we were negatively affected by the financial services collapse even though it was of no fault of my subsidiary. As a result, in an effort to increase capital, CitI placed my subsidiary in a Holdings Company and put us on the market for sale, which resulted in more than 2,000 of us losing our jobs."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management at my company is under a lot of stress to reduce to spending and improve profitability, while being forced to close offices, sell loans and reduce staff. I feel as though they are doing the best they can with the hand they were dealt."

"The job entails high cost loans to consumer with less than average credit."

"I liked the feeling of accomplishment when help customer reach financial goals"

"The pressure of upper management puts on to get results by any means necessary"

"Try to achieve the results you pass down to employees in a branch"

"I have been with OneMain Financial for 9 years and feel like it is a great company to work for. The financial environment the last 4 years has made it difficult, but I guess that is true for a lot of companies. The company treats you fair and expects you to hit your monthly targets."

"If you want to have a life, do not work here. Although the pay can be rewarding if you are in management, you have to decide what is more important."
