What do you like about working at New York City Department of Education?

"I have only worked at the NYC Board of Education as a Substitute teacher. I like the fact that I was able to pursue my Master's while working. Depending on the school, I was treated with respect."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"People who are interviewing with this company should be who they are. If you are pretending, the pretense with last for only a short while. No one likes a phony."

What don't you like about working at New York City Department of Education?

"I don't like the fact that everything that goes wrong is blamed on the teachers. The curriculum is preparing the students for poverty in some schools."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There should be respect for every adult in the school. It sets a great example for the students. No one should be undermined or embarrassed in front of the students. We are here for one purpose and we should respect each other as fellow humans."
