"This company no longer exists. It's final sale was that of the 6000 patents which yielded 4.5B from Apple, Microsoft and a consortium of other industry players who did not want google to own the intellectual property of the company."
What don't you like about working at Nortel?
"It was so large, it never restructured appropriately enough, or quickly enough to stabilize the business."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Nortel shrunk ov er the years by laying off highly competent sales and engineering personnel. Often keeping inadquate or inexperienced managers in place. My advice to Nortel would be two-fold: 1.When you layoff employees, make sure that the upper management and middle management teams feel the pain as well. 2. Do not lay off the personnel who effectively collect the money/payments from customers."
