"I have worked for Newton Public Schools for two years. While COVID has presented challenges we never thought we would face, I feel that as a team we have done our very best to keep our students engaged and excited about learning. Before COVID changed the education experience as we know it, I found that this space was very collaborative and rewarding. I appreciated the consistent feedback supervisors would give me, as well as the end of year evaluation. This is the type of environment where they want you to succeed and will help you along the way. What stuck out to me was when my supervisor asked me where I saw myself going within education. I appreciated that this was something that was on her mind as well as mine. You don't feel unappreciated here. If you do your job and do it well, there is no doubt you can achieve your ultimate goal. My only real critique is that communication could be better from those in charge of district education as a whole. I feel as though sometimes we are left to figure things out on our own or that things are communicated as thoughtfully as they could be. That being said, my direct supervisors are all fantastic and that is certainly not the case with any of them. Overall, I would highly recommend working for Newton Public Schools. The students will amaze you, the staff is collaborative, and the opportunity for success is there if you want it."
