"NYSC at Long Beach has a very laid back gym staff. It actually almost doesn’t feel like going to work when I’m there. I’m never under any pressure from managers or members when I’m lifeguarding or at the desk. At the front desk the managers train us to make billing calls and fold towel for members to use. We also collect member that are past due on their accounts. That’s the most difficult part of the job to be honest. It’s a huge plus that we’re given a free membership to any franchised club and personal training is discounted if you wish to get personal training. I would suggest working at NYSC part time for anyone who has time and doesn’t care much for the money. It makes a great job for someone who is going through a transition or is retired or someone that is in school like me."

"I've worked for NYSC for 8 years and each year it gets better and better. My supervisors and all people I get along with really well but also have a lot to offer. I started as a floor trainer with no experience and with the support around I have become a manager in a thriving market. I strongly encourage anyone who wants to be successful and is driven for success to stop in to the local NYSC and get started."
