Claims Adjuster

"After doing this for just a couple weeks, I can tell you that it's a great position. I'm working as a contractor, so the work is only a couple times a week to start with, but gets more frequent as the season progresses. The work is relatively easy, and farmers are usually pretty easy to deal with, which always makes it more enjoyable. The other adjusters are really easy to work with, very nice, and very informative when teaching. However, there's no telling when or if I could move into a full-time position, the per diem position I'm currently in doesn't have much job security for Winter. You will be required to purchase almost everything you need to do the job except laptop and printer, i.e. scale, moisture tester, bucket, and tape measure. Also, as a contractor you'll have to use your own vehicle, however, they do reimburse you for it, the rate is the state rate, for me $0.56 per mile, which doesn't take long to rack up some miles."
