"The learning curve is very steep, but it feels great to be part of a large organization that is impacting so many parts of the world. My issues have been with my local chapter. Opportunities for training and relocation are plentiful."

"Local team management is incredibly frustrating, and she often pulls us off track based on her whim. Staff are afraid to question her based on her emotional reactions."

"As manager, I would demostrate a higher level of respect by being present in the office, being timely and prompt, and sharing information more readily."

"Find out who's REALLY in charge. Bruised egos can get you in trouble. Be diplomatic."

"Too much bureaucracy. Lack of communication between manager and employees, and inter-departmental. Not enough face time with managers and co-workers in my department. Not enough training on new technologies. Policies made by lawyers and accountants interferes with productivity."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"More clarity and communication on job requirements. Training essential on new technologies. Don't let other departments (i.e., Operations) define the job for the IT department."
