What do you like about working at National Semiconductor?

"A lot of diversity and groups that make up the company. A lot of growth and decent pay."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It is hard to get in, but is worth it. Keep in mind you may be contract a while with no chance of going direct hire. The pay and benefits though are adequate for a working household and there is room to grow with the company."

What don't you like about working at National Semiconductor?

"Hard to communicate between the ethnicity of the company, and hard to start, as it was contract to start. Contract that extended 3+ years in length or longer. I was there 7+ years total. Pay was decent tho for the money, It is very unstable as a company in the way of hiring and layoffs. It seems they always were cutting back on their workforce."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Re-institute middle management and assign multiple teams and drop self directed teams. This is one direction that would hurt company in the long run always have. There is need for more leadership within the ranks and needed guidance for the direction of a group and keeping everyone focused on the same page."
