"I enjoyed my time working there."
"extremely overworked understaffed, unappreciative, and unresponsive"
What do you like about working at National Safety Council?
"The OT I have gotten out of working 7 days a week for 3 months straight."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Only interview with this company if we would like to work for DDC or Advocacy. They are the ONLY departments that are staffed. Every other department sees extreme cutbacks in EVERY aspect."
What don't you like about working at National Safety Council?
"The staff is extremely overworked. Most departments are extremely understaffed. There are way too many managers and too few worker bees. I believe that the CEOs do not listen to majority of their staff. I believe that the company is not honest. They lie to their members and stretch the truth about what is really going on at the council. IT is not supported by the Council well. It is hard to get ideas and procedures implemented. The staff does not receive the tools they need to complete their job."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Hire more worker bees. Listen to your staff, and work better with other departments. We are not in highschool anymore. There should not be clicks in the office."
"This used to be a good company to work for until the newest executive management team arrived several years ago. They terminated most of the company staff targeting the senior staff and the over fifty crowd. I don't understand why they did this because they were already making good profit for a non-profit organization. They created difficult six months reviews for the employees and basically found any reason possible to terminate the staff. The only possible reason this was done would be is to increase bonuses for executive team. A shocking heartless group here."
"The latest executive team is monstrous. Terminated most of the staff in the last several years. Targeting older, sickly, and especially staff with more than ten years. Did this through yelling and abusing staff and attempting to get them to quit. I understand they did not want to pay unemployment so they attempted to fire staff or get them to quit. This company was already making money. I believe the only reason they did this was increase bonuses for the executives."
"I worked at NSC for over twenty years and was happy until the new executive team arrived several years ago. That is when all the yelling and craziness started throughout the council. The management was given directive to terminate almost everyone by whatever means. They decided to have reviews every six months for the purpose of terminating staff and they managed to terminate all the senior staff and older and sickly employees for the executive team's personal gain."
"This is the worst company ever. People get yelled at by management and fired almost every day. Management only knows how to bully people. This has to be the most hated non-profit company that ever existed. Stay away from this place. Management is mean and crazy. They only want money. They should not be non-profit."
"This place has crazy turnover. Upper management yells at staff. I know of numerous people that were terminated for voting for Obama. This place has no stock holders. All the profits go in the pockets of the executive. Huge bonuses for a small non-profit. These people are vicious and have no soul."
"This is a complete mess of a company. Executive management are extreme right wing hate group that have terminated numerous staff for not agreeing with their extremist views. Turnover is extremely high. It is normal for executive management to abuse power and fire staff for any crazy reason. In the last several years they have terminated all of the best employees that have any seniority and they have also fired anyone older or sickly."
"I worked at this company for twelve years and all these bad reviews are true. The company top executives are evil extreme right wingers. I know of many good employees that were terminated because word got out that they voted for Obama. Shocking lack of ethics at this company. They would lie to staff, customers and members on a regular basis and falsify performance reviews. Do not join this organization."
"This has to be the worst company ever. Staff was forced to contribute to their charity "Friends Of Safety" under threat of being fired. Executive team would have managers falsify performance reviews to terminate staff for any crazy reason. They terminated almost all the company staff in short order, targeting the senior staff or anyone of not the best health. They fired almost all older or overweight people and they also targeted the minorities and all staff the were not white. They hired a token African American HR Director when discrimination lawsuits started coming in. This company does not have stockholders and they did not put profits into safety programs. All the profits for this company would go to the Executive team for their bonuses."
"This company was making record profit before they decided to terminate almost the entire company staff a few years ago and replace them with unqualified cronies. This company still has all the same management running this place today. These monsters still work here and all the hardworking people that built this place were terminated. It is not right that this place is still open. This place should be shut down immediately!!!"
