What do you like about working at Monroe Clinic?

"Independence, immediate supervisors, immediate team mates, flexibility of my department"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"In this culture, direct care providers are top of the food chain in all contexts, and they get more rewards and much more say in the daily operations. For back office staff, if you're not the lead dog the scenery doesn't change much. The organization's internal quality approaches are chaotic and basically resist any attempt to standardize operations across departments, which probably makes life miserable for float staff. I know it makes it miserable to report on operations across departments when everyone has a slightly different way of doing the same overall tasks."

What don't you like about working at Monroe Clinic?

"The organization is not proactive and IT is not considered an important part of the process. Once people contact me for a project, each person acts as if their project is my only task and micromanages the deadlines (or completely breaks off contact until I deliver a solution). Each time a solution is needed to some new old crisis, people request the same data they already get 60 different ways, as if one more report on the same metrics will be a revelation and supercharge financial success."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Communicate in clear and concrete terms, develop more innovative strategies, get buy in from departments to follow the strategies instead of letting each supervisor run their own show, develop a clear vision for the organization and get departments in step with it"
