"I have worked for the MITRE Corporation for over 7 years. Work life balance is good, but otherwise the company is stagnating, far too much management overhead and confusion about what the company really wants to focus on."
"A new start for the company contract, a major lifestyle sacrifice for my family. Great people to work with and a decent campus. Fantastic cafeteria, perfecting processes and modernization on the horizon."
"MITRE provides an excellent work/life balance, and mostly everyone there is genuinely interested in doing meaningful work for the public good."
"Mitre is a large, multifaceted government contractor and because of its scale and scope, the work/life balance, corporate culture, and daily interactions can vary widely and dramatically across the board. Some groups encourage WFH, group outings, independent work and though. However, some groups are managed from the other side of the country, discourage team building, and don't consider WFH to be an option. Mitre does focus heavily on education and higher learning, so it's a great place to pick up certifications, or to study a new field or subject."
"Good company to work for unless you are working at a remote site."
"I've been working here for 3 years."
"MITRE is a great company that offers competitive salaries, work/life balance, and opportunities to develop capabilities to solve the most challenging areas in technology."
"I've worked at MITRE Corp. for 5 years. It is a well respected government research"
"MITRE has been a good employer for 13 years. In the last several years, however a combination of budget pressures, and attempts to resolve them, have cause MITRE's executive leadership to focus too heavily on cost-cutting and changing various aspects of the compensation package to more closely match industry standards. While most MITRE employees are compensated well enough that this doesn't affect them too badly, support staff such as I feels the pinch very strongly."
"MITRE is an amazing place to work. It is a private, not-for-profit organization that manages Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs). Focusing on technology needed for their customer's most challenging problems, MITRE prides itself on bringing the corporation to bear to find solutions."
