"I've worked for Bismarck YMCA for a year. There are about 2,700 YMCAs in the US, with approximately 20,000 full-time employees and 600,000 volunteers. The Y boasts of engaging with 9 million youth and 13 million adults each year. These statistics speak for itself in that the Y is clearly making a huge difference in the lives of Americans. Where I work, for example, all second graders across the state get free swimming lessons each week. I love the Y and what it stands for. My only complaint is that they pay very little and NEVER allow overtime. Otherwise, I promote and support everything the YMCA stands for and does to impact the community."
