"I left a job I really enjoyed working for really good people. I was offered more money so of course I jumped at the opportunity. Boy, was that a mistake! The first week was ok. The manager was smug but I figured it was just his personality. He did show me how to do things mainly lock up the store and do the deposit. Later on I saw why because he left early everyday. I have been in automotive parts most of my adult life so I was far from green going to work here, however soon I realized why they had gone through six assistant managers in the few previous months. I was left alone most days with very little computer training. Phone ringing constantly, customers lined up. The manager would leave and stay gone hours on lunch breaks come back smelling of beer. I rarely got a lunch break or bathroom break for that matter, he encouraged me to eat at the counter while still working. The owner was horrible and not the person he let on when I was hired. He would stop by the store and wouldn’t even speak to me but would stand in a group with the men. Several occasions I would walk in on meetings I wasn’t included in. It was like I wasn’t even there. I have never felt so unwelcome at a job before. At the end of each day the manager and the techs would gather up in the back room by the bathroom not sure what they were doing; and I would have to wait on them to come out before I could close up the store, after being there almost 12 hours. Several customers called complaining about their vehicles the manager wouldn’t speak to them and I would be left to deal with their issues. Such a poorly ran place. Changing management would not help the owner is the issue. I was fired for calling in sick with a migraine, the one day I missed! And the owners wife cuts my last check had to call several times to get it and cheated me out of about $250. Please don’t waste your time especially not you are female they are sexist. Not worth it! You won’t last, they will make sure of it!!!"
