"The Student Alumni Foundation was run mainly by students (interns). We cultivated an extremely fun and collaborative work environment. Hours were flexible and there was no micro management. All employees had the same goals in mind which made for an exciting work environment."

"I've been working at the MSU Meat Laboratory since May of 2012 and it has been a great environment to work and learn. I love working with food and we make a wide variety of products and there are always opportunities to sample what we make. There are also a lot of opportunities for me to learn more about animal science which I always find interesting. The people here are friendly and great to work with."

"MSU - A pretty good place to work that needs some serious improvement."

What do you like about working at Michigan State University?

"Interesting work. Fairly pleasant working environment."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"You better have a thick enough skin to deal with the bureaucracy and inefficiency. MSU sells itself as progressive but in the end, it isn't."

What don't you like about working at Michigan State University?

"Bad management. Horrendous bureaucracy. State cutbacks and poor allocation of funding. UNIONS."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Run your administrative and support operations more like a business. Profit has NOTHING to do with it. It's all about efficiency - getting the optimal performance for the dollars spent. That will enable you to better meet your mission of teaching and research."
