"The exposure to many different technologies. Those that were retained and not outsourced are very talented. Problem is there just isn't enough of them because 75% of IT was outsourced at one time. Huge loss of culture and SME's."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Must be able to work in an environment that is not very mature from a process standpoint and will have to work with limited resources that are not very skill. Be ready for the crisis of the day."

What don't you like about working at Michaels Stores?

"Private equity owner, outsourcing on a large scale, lack of talent, lack of funding, lack of standards and defined process. Michaels tries to do everything on the cheap and wants everything for free."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Understand you get what you pay for and that business should be a partnership."
