"I've worked at Medidata for three years, during which time it was mostly focused on growth. It was recently acquired by a large French multinational and the process has not been smooth. There is a lot of confusion about direction, outsourcing, and some really public embarrassments. While there are still great people and interesting projects, there is a serious brain drain due to uncertainty."

"I worked with Medidata for nearly 3 years as an SQA analyst. I advanced from SQA Analyst to Team Lead to Senior Lead all with less than a year in each promoted position before moving to the next. Medidata's mission statement involves putting the end-users first - making the software company more concerned with the quality of life of its users over churning out release after release. It was a very modern, generally tolerant, lovely place to work."

"The worst experience I have ever had!"

What do you like about working at Medidata Solutions?

"Great benefits and above average pay with flexible hours and scheduling."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Simply refuse an interview and find another employer as Medidata isn't worth it."

What don't you like about working at Medidata Solutions?

"I contemplated writing this assessment as I have always taken the higher road when being belittled, deceived or scrutinized. However, after much thought; I believe I need to write this as a warning to others when considering Medidata as an employer.Medidata is unquestionably the worst employer I have ever worked for. The company is dysfunctional in nearly aspect and inept at even the most fundamental levels. Medidata lacks integrity which is the biggest detriment to the company (in my opinion). My experience with Medidata encompasses surviving in a solid political buddy system; operating with lack of direction, communication and strategic planning; working with unprofessional management; poor products and wastefulness with monetary resources. Additionally, the companys hiring practices are deceptive and executive management is continually involved with the most minute and obscure decisions which make for much bureaucracy. Lastly, it is difficult to get anything accomplished as your days are spent in back to back meetings resulting in diminishing accomplishments. In order to elaborate on the aforementioned points, I will start with the political buddy system. During my employment with the company, my manager had his proverbial favorites which could do no wrong. I sometimes made the correlation that working for him was like being on a high school football team where he was the star quarterback and he had a few star receivers while other employees were like second-string players that got marginal attention. There were also us band geeks that he had little or no communication with which very difficult to be successful when you never knew what your priorities were. The mantra of favorites seemed to continue up the ranks as I had considerable exposure to executive management.Several of my peers were also unpleasant to work with (the star receivers) as there was much conniving talk of other employees and peers. In my experience of meeting with these employees, the F-bomb was usually dropped 50 or more times during an hour meeting. Hey, Im not saying Ive never said the F word, but it was used rather excessively by the starting lineup with no consideration for the attending parties. The products were also a thorn in our side as our core product had numerous issues which I wont go into at this time. As for the aforementioned comment regarding wastefulness with monetary resources, this ties into the strategic planning part. It seemingly didnt matter how strong your business case was to implement a new product or service. One could spend much time and resources to devise a plan in the interest of the company, only to have executive management overrule or simply ignore your case. This resulted in products and resources being misused as they werent suitable for the company. To simplify the above its as arbitrary as a single fellow having a small hatchback; getting married and having 3 kids. The fellow realizes he needs a bigger car and goes to the dealership only to have the dealership tell him he will have to stick with the hatchback because thats what worked for so longdespite him having a wife and 3 kids now.As for the companys hiring practices, it is very common for the executive management to hire middle management and throw them into the mix without consulting the reporting manager or the staff below. One day you will come into the office and discover you have a new employee reporting to you whom is now responsible for a segment of your team as a directive by executive management. This not only makes you feel uneasy, but also makes your staff uneasy as this is a common practice. As a trend, the company also seems to hire folks with little management for these positions. There is no sanctuary within the organization either as I discussed the above details with HR in depth only to be ratted out,Finally, the meetings! In a 40 hour work week I would estimate that 28 hours per week were spent in meetings. This not a practical and efficient use of time as one never had time to finish anything. Beware if considering employment with Medidata! I believe the company can change, but the changes will have to start at the very top and propagate throughout the organization. *Horrible executive and middle management*Poor use of monetary resources*Extreme political buddy system*Deceptive hiring practices*HR does not operate interest of the employees*Excessive meetings*No strategic plan or initiative*Lack of integrity *Poor company communication*Poor products*Deceitful audit practices*Lack of culture*Management by intimidation*Against religion collectively*No direction*Quick to pass blame and judgment on staff"
