"Great people like in most in every company. The only thing that is different is the management. Unfortunately, they're very entrenched with a "good ol' boy" culture. Change is hard to make happen unless it's a must forced by regulation. Massive potential, but only potential."

"The people were great and I had a great boss."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do your homework prior to the interview. There will be at least 3-4 interviews."

What don't you like about working at MDC Holdings?

"The cut backs they were making, such as not building specs and having to have only dirt starts to sell and they were not great with the time frame expectations they would set for the client."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen more to the sales teams concerning how to improve sales numbers."

What do you like about working at MDC Holdings?

"Loved the products. Loved my first two managers I worked for there(one was a gossip thou which got ugly sometimes), they told me what they expected and when they expected it by and left me alone unless I requested their assistance. They would both let me enjoy running my territory like my own business. This management would listen to what's wrong and your suggestion on how to fix it."

"Be a yes person"

What don't you like about working at MDC Holdings?

"Last two managers I worked for there were MICRO MANAGERS, they did not want you making any decisions , stating opinions, everything had to be done as they said even if you could be achieve it another way. No independent thinking aloud."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Open communication, even if it's not what they want to hear. People that actual work in the field can see what works and what doesn't. Stop changing territories around. Keep your personal feelings about people out of the work place."
