"Very difficult work situation. Not a stable place to work."

What do you like about working at McCabe, Weisberg & Conway?

"The co-workers are OK. If people lasted with the firm longer, could make some good friendships. Also, it seems like the firm stays busy so you won't be laid off for lack of work."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you have a job and are looking to make a move, keep looking, keep your options open. If you go to McCabe, you're just going to be looking again in a few weeks, if not before. Also, don't plan on them raising your pay after you've started working there. If you absolutely must take the job, try to get as good a pay rate as you can from the start. Because this firm has basically no benefits. Even if you're a long time employee, you get only 1 wk of paid vacation per yr. The health insurance has basically no benefit and costs as much as a policy you could buy yourself on the individual market."

What don't you like about working at McCabe, Weisberg & Conway?

"The firm is pretty cheap. You will have far, far more work than you could ever reasonably complete. The firm has a crazy amount of rules and will fire people for violating rules even one time. The work environment is like a modern day concentration camp. People disappeared all the time. It could even be someone who had been there for months, never missed a day, worked hard, etc. You really can't understand it until you are there."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I actually think management might be doing well enough financially that they just don't care. You see, this firm has very few partners/shareholders. I think there are 3 in Philadelphia and 1 in each other office. So out of the entire firm, the real benefits/profits are concentrated in just a handful of people. So, whatever, if I was them I might not change much either. I just would be realistic and not expect people to show much loyalty."
