"The collaborative effort of the team and the ability to move forward with new ideas. I was brought in to fill a new position and take the company's visibility to arenas they had never been. I was given a great deal of free movement, and was allowed to create a very successful series of new programs. After being hired, I heard war stories about the previous management and feel lucky to have the incredible team here."

"Be assertive and be ready to show how you can immediately contribute. The job here isn't easy...but nothing worth doing is."

"Industry-based regulations, which were no fault of the company or its management."

"If you have zero ambition and want a secure place to work, and if you are a very good politician, then this is the place for you."

"Raises are based on politics rather than performance. There is no clear path to getting promoted. Incompetent people are retained to avoid litigation. Managers do not understand the work their direct reports are doing."

"If it were up to me, there would be fewer middle managers and those managers would have knowledge of what activities they are managing."
