Managers should also have good people skills since they have to interact with different types of people in different roles. They'll also be expected to be able to effectively manage their time and energy.
Education: A common education requirement for marketing managers is a bachelor's degree. Courses in management, economics, business law and statistics prove to be the most useful. Those who wish to focus more on advertising will most likely want to earn a bachelor's degree in journalism or advertising.
Career Path: It's advised that future marketing managers complete an internship while earning their degree. Experience in promotions, marketing and sales may prove beneficial, as could a former position as a sales representative, public relations specialist or purchasing agent.
