"I worked at Manhattan Mini Storage back in 2011-2012. During the recession, you were lucky to even have a job. However that came with a price. I was taught how to manage a business, make a sale, and deal with customers. Before you decide to apply for a job at this company please know that this company has a long history of workplace discrimination. If you are a employee of color, disability, or gay, your supervisor will force you to either work the late or overnight shift. On the other hand, he or any other manager will allow white, straight, able minded work an equal amount of morning shifts without any request. As an full time employee, you better know your rights. a month before I leaving the company, I was scheduled two days off of work. My colleagues and supervisors were leaving me very nasty text/voice messages demanding me to work overnight. As someone who knows my employment rights, I refused. After returning to work my co workers and boss acted very surprised that someone like me knew my employment rights and decided to let me work 3 morning shifts and 2 overnights at a remote facility. After a month of working that shift, I was called into a meeting with my manager demanding that I work overnight monday-friday. After stating that I cannot work this shift he refused to take no for an answer. He demanded that I work over nights and if I don't like it "get out". Then all of a sudden he orders me not to show up to the office tomorrow and that it is no longer working out. All of a sudden at 1030am I receive 3 threatening voicemails & 4 more by him ordering me to work the overnight shift. I called him back just to refuse the shift only to hear him curse and try to bully me over the phone. Most of them get their units paid for by public assistance. He and this organization is lucky that I was approved for unemployment. I would have easily filed a discrimination suit against them."
"I worked for this company for a while and at first everything was great! But I guess I can call that period the Honeymoon period because shortly after I saw how horrible of a workplace this company is. For a sales job they took away commission which is a majority of where your money would come from, and upper management sees their employees not as family as their company would suggest but as $$. I wouldn't suggest working here unless this is a stepping stone to a better company."
