Working at Lyft in Nashville, TN: 2 Employee Reviews

Customer Care Specialist

"Very corporate atmosphere, but the people you meet and work with there are among the best people You’ll ever have the opportunity to meet and or hang out with. The culture is no longer that of an early app start up, but it is very good place to work, great benefits too!"

"I came to Lyft in Nashville with the perception of an innovative and progressive company that celebrated and valued diversity and career growth. I was on the Driver Growth Team, Outbound Innovations Team as they were last known, from April 2nd, 2018 to July 7th or so of this year before transferring to the Social Media team. I was this company for 17 months roughly and I am leaving with a much different perception of the company that I came in with. What attracted me to Lyft was the collaboration and projects that I was empowered to be a part of. To show my eagerness to learn and grow, I was involved in multiple projects, including the creation of Mini-TOM, which allowed the agents on the team to efficiently get drivers on the road. I did more than enough to prove my ability by getting involved with projects and even starting a few projects myself. But there are many instances where unfair practices took place and growth opportunities were provided to a select few, who were set up for success. While I was eager to participate in projects, I was not given the same chance to learn or trained as other co-workers that were handpicked to receive the training and development to take over a higher position without prerequisites and expectations placed on others. For the Mini-TOM project, I had to fight for the sole credit of that project as the leads, Elizabeth Kendall and Tom Knight tried to delegate that to other people that were not me. I was commended for my hard work and respected by the members on that team but I was still never considered for any growth opportunities. During my touch base meetings, I always wanted to know how I was doing in my role and what I needed to be considered for a promotion when the time came. I was constantly given the same script that I was doing well, what I was currently doing was what I needed to do to be able to advance with Lyft. My time there I was passed over for promotions that I had the experience and qualities to lead a team."
