Office Manager
in Haverstraw, NY

"Three blind mice..."

What do you like about working at Louis Hornick?

"The pay, a handful of good people and it was so close to home I could walk there."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you really need the money, I found that they pay quite well. However, be prepared to work in an environment where nothing makes sense and where the blind lead the blind."

What don't you like about working at Louis Hornick?

"Unfortunately, what I didn't like about the company far outweighs what I did like. I can say that those at the top of the totem pole need to prioritize. I can understand needing to cut your costs wherever feasible but when you start analysing how much paper you use and what it costs (0.08 per sheet) and begin to recycle by reusing scraps of paper, you need to question where this company is coming from. Here I have an idea, instead of trying to figure out how much it costs for one sheet of paper, how about stopping your quarterly meetings at the luxury hotel and use one of your three conference rooms to hold the meetings. Or how about firing the consultant that you pay thousands of dollars for just to create maps on how to instruct someone of how to start up your computer. Gee, I thought by writing the functions down would be sufficent, not to mention it costs $0 dollars. Let me not get started on the owner who reminds one of the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland who entertains himself by humiliating staff members in front of an open forum of supervisors. I'm sure that's alot of fun."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Go get a job at a real company."
