"- Benefit: No raise, no 401K program, & no vacation after 1st year.- Most of the employment here ends by termination rather than lay-off; therefore employee will not be eligible to receive EDD.- No Growth potential, as company's outlook is trending on a downward spiral.- Micromanagement: Cameras are installed through out the office to monitor each employee.- Management: Management has very little background & knowledge on running an online retailer. There's a manager who is still completely clueless on everything, even after being with the company for 1.5 years. Anther manager, who knows what he is doing, quit & started his own business selling the similar product.- Products: A major portion of business relies on selling patent infringement products, & the remaining portion of the products are dead tech.- Real Estate: Warehouse is purchased in '07 & lost a lot of value which dis-attract investors."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Obey the law & stop selling patent infringement products immediately. Only an ethical business can be a long term business. There's no need for another visit by Federal Agents.- Stop hiring the unemployed people from large corporation. It's not a good bargain to hire them just because you pay them much less than what they used to earn. There must be a good reason why they are no longer working for a large corporation & end up working for a small company instead of another large corporation.- Change Organization Structure: In small company, it is typical that most of the employee reports directly to the General Manager (often time it's the owner). Reduce the hierarchy system to keep the company lean.- Let employee to use their knowledge & creativity on selling different products instead of threat to hold them responsible if innovation fails. This might be the last chance to revive the company.- Rent out the un-used portion of the warehouse to generate income to pay debt."
