"If you have no ambition other than to work and collect a paycheck, then this is the place for you to work. However, I already have a degree in mechanical engineering and have been told by the engineering manager that "there wasn't any time to train" me many years ago when I was wanting to learn engineering. The company has since then hired 3-4 engineer interns. So newly hired interns obviously need to be trained from scratch, I've been with the company for 3-4 years at that point. I've been passed over other engineer opportunities which are rare. Funny thing is the individual who was hired over me didn't last a year. He found a higher paying job elsewhere. Makes me question if it pays to be loyal to this company. I was also recommended to be promoted from paygrade 7 to 8 by my manager and the general manager years ago. All that was needed for the final approval was corporate headquarters to approve. I'm still a paygrade 7. All of my honest and hard efforts seemed to have gone to being undervalued and underappreciated. Again, if you have no ambition other than showing up and collecting a paycheck, then this is the place for you. If you have a degree, it'll be near impossible to move up. Now don't get the wrong impression, it's not all bad here. A decent majority of the workers are friendly and hard working, that I cannot dispute. No one, no matter hard you worked to make the company profitable, received a raise or bonus this year because of covid despite the fact we were told that we are "essential"."
