"I would urge talented engineers to avoid working for this company. The manager of the software group in Ann Arbor is a very skilled engineer, but he has no interest in, or ability to, manage employees, so it is management by complete indifference. There are no mentoring opportunities or skill growth opportunities. If you attempt to show incentive yourself and make "unauthorized" improvements to code or processes, you will be subject to his anger. Upper management for seven years was constantly concerned with the company's financials, and so had no interest in retaining staff, reviewing staff, training staff, or providing cost of living increases or a salary program of any kind. When asked why at an all-staff meeting, the CEO of the company told the entire assembled staff "because I don't have to." He knows that engineering jobs and assembly jobs are scarce in Michigan and takes full advantage of that fact to keep his staff in line. Avoid."
