"I got to use my cost accounting skills. I thought a CFO would look good on my resume. This is not La-Z-Boy, this is a custom Furniture Gallery in Denver."

"Make it a practice to communicate with the owner about expectations owner/customer on weekly basis."

What don't you like about working at La-Z-Boy?

"There was always a cash crunch because the owner and the designers didn't get it. The customer has to be satisfied or they won't pay their bill.Customer service was marginal. You shouldn't have a high end furniture store in a crime ridden area of downtown Denver."

"Buyers who purchase top brands don't want shoddy merchandise and they want excellent customer service."

"Timing and consistency of promotions, Not enough compensation and I feel that I have more to offer. A retail smothering experience with no growth potential. I have been in Home Furnishings for 16yrs. Accomplshed an consistant 1.3 million dollar sales goal 8-10yrs. I trained new associates as well."

"To be cconsistant,supportive and surely un-clog the lines of communication from the top to the bottom. And to treat people like you would wanna be treated and communicate with people as a person instead of a sales number."

"Almost total freedom to research or persue any idea I wanted as long as the work was getting done. I could come and go as I pleased. Although I was the only geek in a company salesmen, everyone overall is very pleasant to work with."

"seeing how the company has only 2 IT positions, I doubt many will look at this. I would say it is a great company to get experience points with. you'll touch almost everything you would ever want."

What don't you like about working at La-Z-Boy?

"The pay. I took the position because it was a fantastic opportunity to put some admin years under my belt. Keep in mind though, it is most likely because of my low pay that I am currently employed in this poor economy. in retail.The only other thing i'd say I don't 'like' is the luls in work, because I had finished all projects and everything was working, and nothing was broken. there are times I feel like the matag man that put himself out of work. I am the type of person that enjoys a challenge. Spending days on end surfing youtube in my 20's when I could be working on servers gets to me some days. But the luls are almost always followed by big projects. so you have to take the good with the bad."
