"I began my role at KopenTech as Head of Product in 2018 as its second employee. Immediately I took on additional roles coordinating hiring both domestically and internationally, jumpstarting business development, customized client analytics, and led our firm through becoming a FINRA-registered broker-dealer in which I serve as Chief Compliance Officer. Undoubtedly, I've jumped at every opportunity to take on additional responsibilities, as do all members of a team at a startup. However, if I were to suggest areas of improvement first it would be maintaining focus on the "biggest rocks" that will have the largest impact on growing our business. It's incredibly difficult balancing so many different things, and I would give myself feedback that sometimes it's better to hand off projects that could be given to subordinates rather than doing them myself. In recent months I've worked on this and have delegated more and more to those who work for me, freeing me up to work on things I uniquely can improve."
