"Worked there for a few months, worst experience ever. At first it's great and everyone is friendly (coworkers). But then they start giving dirty looks, and roll their eyes at you when you ask a question. There was one supervisor who humiliated me so much and saw me as less of a person than any of the other employees. They expect so much from you and don't even give you the right tools to do so, the registers crash 9 out of10 times. When you close, you don't get out at 10pm... it's ridiculous how many people wait until the last minute to purchase things, and since the registers are slow. Kmart doesn't respect your rights, working 6 hours means one 15 minute break even if you, by LAW, need to take a 30 minute lunch break and one 15 minute break.Sometimes, I wasn't even given my 15 minute break. I even witnessed the arrogant supervisor treating a costumer as if she was stupid! Horrible place!!"

"I started working for Kmart over the summer of 2014. At first everyone is really nice until you work there for over a month and then you start getting treated like crap from the management like all the employers. When you "close" it sucks because you're there to about 11 pm when you have to be at school the next day. Kmart does not care if you're a high school student and have two hours of homework still, let's just clean till 11!"

"Amazing job that I'm trying to get others into. The work environment is relaxed and management will bend over backwards to accommodate their employees."

"Worked here for two years, never a raise, always minimum wage. They add a sales incentive based on how many replacement plans you sell, said plans are of low quality, and customers simply do not want them. I made less than 25 dollars per year on these. After I got trained, my new coworkers didn't know anything, protocols for spills and whatnot just weren't taught. Managers didn't know what was going on, but would put up artificial goals, not giving any attention to how demanding our customer base was. I've cleaned up puke and feces for this company, and have never received any recognition."

"I was in need of employment due to some financial problems and K-Mart employed me, however I did not expect all the problems management had in running the retail store."

"I worked for Kmart for 2 years, almost three. I started off in a different store. Working for Kmart has been an impacted impression on my life. I can do anything I can put my mind to. I learned I am a hard worker and that I can deal with negative experience in the workplace."

"Honestly, management is power crazy. Your schedule changes with no notice, they treat you like a child, and there is ZERO room for negotiation as far as how to do something. You make minimum wage, have absolutely no advancement opportunities, and the benefits are terrible. If you're seriously considering working here, apply at Target instead and save your sanity."
