"My problem with Klarna can be exemplified in a recent revelation. Klarna announced, with pride, that they had done more business in 2020 than 2019 by a substantial margin. In that time, neither the fraud or customer service departments (or many others, to my knowledge) grew to accommodate this increase. No one on my team received raises for the increased duties or workload expectations. This, to me, speaks volumes: headquarters does not value employees. It values the bottom line, even if that means cutting corners procedurally or in terms of quality. The US CFO is a joke. He is constantly demanding exceptions to important compliance and underwriting regulations, saying that even if the company is fined by our payment processor, banks are a dime a dozen so who cares? He does not care about regulatory compliance at all. That's ethically horrifying, and I hate being at a company where that's the case. However, office management team is a bright light in the darkness. While working from home due to COVID, they heard morale was low. Now, we receive 2-3 care packages a month, ranging from international treats to gift cards to flip flops!"
