"The people I work with...many have been there for their entire career. Family atmosphere."

"It is a good place to get early on the job training, but if you want to go far, get a graduate degree and plan to move to a consultant as soon as you get your pe."

What don't you like about working at State of Kansas?

"Experience levels have been steadily dropping for years. People are getting promoted and put in high positions too quickly because of lack of experienced candidates."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Be more forthcoming and honest. Let people know what is and is not within my control and be candid about it."

"I love the people I work with and work for. Everyone is so nice."

"Just sell yourself well. Have a positive attitude during the interview process."

"I can't think of anything I don't like about working here other than I can't move up."

"As purchasing Manager I was able to work independently to achieve the department and agency goals with minimal supervision from management."

"The turnover in administration due to political issues of working in the public sector."

"Empower the employees to do the duties that they were hired for."

"As Deputy Director over property acquistions I was able to assist state agencies the in acquistion, dispoal and lease negotiation which allowed the agency to save money."

"To be patient with the state hiring process and reconginze that rewards have to be person since you are working for the public."

"Working for a public agency political enviorment was constatly changing."
