"I have worked for over 25 years in very reputable companies. This is the first time ever I had to deal with a staff that is largely unprofessional. For the most part the long term employees have lost reality with the “real world” degree of professionalism at work. One of the attractions of Kagan is its causal workplace, its half day Friday, but many employees equate causal with non-professionalism. Systems are too people dependent and not enough system processed. The tasks performed by these individuals are relatively repetitive and disjointed. The skill levels needed to perform most of those tasks are not very high. Over the years people began to “own” these processes and amend them making them very hard to integrate. Internal system used for data collection has very weak internal controls and it lacks consistency to drive the numbers for financial reporting. Company culture is 100% micro-management and is reminiscent of a dictatorial regime. Team work is unheard of and staff is forced to do as owners and management directs. Owners use corporate structure as a conduit for personal expenses. There is no dialogue between management and staff. The worst part is company’s non-compliance with state and federal regulations."
