On a typical day, a network administrator will plan and implement computer networks for clients and organizations. They will also provide service and troubleshooting support to on-site and off-site clients.
Skillset: Network administrators must show strong knowledge in computer hardware, software, and networking. They must be organized, able to work in a team environment, and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education: Employers normally require that a network administrator hold an industry related bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree with several years of relevant work experience. Industry certifications such as CompTIA’s A+ and Network+ are also highly regarded in the industry.
