21. Jersey Mike's is a good company to work for because it is an easy place to work. However, most of the benefits offered to you depend on the location you will work at because this is a franchised business.
2. At the location I worked at, the owners were very involved which is not a bad thing. As a Shift Leader, I was paid $10/hr+ shared tips/hr. The tips are what got me through, but tips are not guaranteed at every location.
3. This was the most stressful place to work. One of the owners is really rude and difficult to work with. I wasn't the only one who thought like this. All of their locations have a high turn over rate because of this lady. Everyone dreaded working with her, even people who were higher level than she. It would be a miracle, on any shift at all seven places, if someone wasn't offended by something she said or she wouldn't yell at you or a customer. On multiple occasions, I would go home and cry. If her husband and she are working the same shift, fully expect a fight and one of them leaving.
4. I quit because of her. I wanted to go to school so I sent her and my GM a formal email about asking to step down and be part-time. She threw a major fit about it. She said on different occasions, "Why do you need to go to school? You have a career here" and "It's just ACC. That's like high school so you shouldn't need so much time off" among other things. She gave me so much flap about it that we ended up having a verbal fight. I did not want to be unprofessional anymore, so I left.
5. She does not care about other people and she shows it by berating employees, being hypocritical, blaming others and never admitting fault. She is the most unprofessional owner/manager I have ever had to deal with in my eight years of food service work. Even though I am struggling financially now, emotional abuse was not worth the money.
3.6I worked for Jersey Mike's for roughly 2 years. My experience was a mid-tier experience. It was not difficult to be promoted, just working hard got the experience necessary. The management that had run the store was extremely laid back and did not want to see growth in the business. I attempted to improve efficiency, especially cutting costs with employee shifts, product usage, and time wasted on the clock.

Not a lot of room to grow unless you're going to own a franchise. Also, I didn't enjoy the operational inconsistency of direction by the owners from one week to the next.
