"I worked for Itron just under a year. It has strong growth potential in the utility industry and is a positive company to work for."
"This company is a decent place to work. I had a chance to work with different technology at this company. In general, this company has the established company environment which is different from smaller or start-up companies in the South Bay."
"Eh, will just say I would have given 3.5/5 starts 2 years ago, but now I give 2."
What do you like about working at Itron?
"The work is decent, and I like the people I work with for the most part."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"The good news is that most of my negative comments are things not seen by the masses really. You can bury your head and enjoy your job here. The work is good, and the people are good."
What don't you like about working at Itron?
"Upper management appears to have no clear direction. We are running all over the place. Marketing is completely incompetent, so many reorgs have caused way to many layers of management creating an extreme bureaucracy where little gets done easily. We seem to fight each other too often (culture). Expectations are extremely unrealistic because they are driven by external demands and when things fail it is our fault, not the fault of management for being daft. I could go on forever."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Set a minimal, clear direction. Prioritize our goals and know not everything will get done. We get everything done, but do it terribly. Lets do a few things well instead and delay the others. Grow some backbone and say no to our customers when we need to, and stand up to our partners. NOT ALL EMPLOYEES ARE THE SAME! Quit acting like they are. Some are 20x more productive than others. Give raises and bonuses to those who go the extra mile and better the company as we are tired of getting nothing for our heroism. Recognize achievement to promote hard work instead of pretending we are all the same which gives little reason (other than personal satisfaction) to work hard. Fire all of marketing and start over as everyone knows the hold department is useless. HP2 is a big waste of money as it will NOT change anything. Bring in some fresh blood from outside the company (be careful!) as we keep making the same mistakes and not learning from them."
"I am pleased with the work I am doing. It has lots of challenges."
What do you like about working at Itron?
"Challenges, cultures, Salary, supports, reputed company, benefits besides medical and dental."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

What don't you like about working at Itron?
"So far nothing. It is a big company so getting together with all coworkers seem impossible."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Not really, as we all learn from our mistakes. Just focus on not repeating mistakes and often doing regular reviews avoids the company making big mistakes."
"Embedded engineer with excellent HW and system development background."
