"Stop promoting your people who are good at giving lip service."

What don't you like about working at International Paper?

"Lack of personal growth and career advancement."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Talk to lower level employees and protect them from retaliation."

"I was a temporary employee that was hired to take up the slack while they updated their computer system. I was not told this until after they updated their system and was let go. I feel they were not truthful to me because they were worried I would not perform my best work, and I feel very disappointed in their management of the accounting department."

What do you like about working at International Paper?

"I enjoyed the team camaraderie, and the family atmosphere."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Yes, get any information in writing. The accounting manager is unorganized and forgets sometimes. Something in writing will help when he changes his mind."

What don't you like about working at International Paper?

"I did not enjoy the system by which they had set up their accounting processes."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Quit outsourcing their accounting to third world nations. It costs twice as much to correct the errors, and takes as much time to prepare the documents for transmission."

"I was a key player in working for the plants as a mediator with the IT developers. Performed a lot of training and testing for the plants."

"So many Managers to please (dept. heads), the priorities were sometimes hard to determine."

"Make priorities clear. Have meetings at the same time with all heads to set the priorities."
